Editing Features Or Content Management

The term editing refers to how you add or change information on your site. This is also refered to as Content Management. This is a key feature in terms of usability and keeping the site up-to-date. This feature is only available to the Web Administrator and their designees and is controlled by password security. When work is to be done on the website a special menu appears which enables the Adminstrator to perform functions like add, delete or change text, graphics or do database maintenance. It is designed for someone with technical ability at a word processor level. The example below shows how the edit function works.

1. The Administator brings up the site and enters the administrative mode with their password.

2. The Edit screen appears and the editable areas are delineated with the word edit in red.

3. Click on edit for the area you want to change.

4. A screen appears with an editor just like a word  processor that lets you key in text, cut and paste and many of the other functions of a word processor.

5. The example on the left shows how the edit screen comes up and allows you to change text or images.

6. When the Update Button is clicked the Website is updated immediately

The same kind of easy to use screens are provided for editing images and the member database as well. You can try it yourself on the demo site.
